Kia increases its GHC sponsorship

With 180 days until it kicks of its 11th annual event, the Greater Hickory Classic golf tournament announced some major sponsorship news on Tuesday.

Kia Motors, which has presented the Champions Tour golf tournament since 2006, has increase its sponsorship for the event this October.

The tournament announced the move during a press conference Tuesday morning at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover.

The Champions Tour event, which takes place Oct. 14-20, 2013, will now be known as the Greater Hickory Kia Classic at Rock Barn under a one-year agreement.
