An eight-team American Legion Junior state tournament starts Friday at Henkel-Alley Field on the American Legion Fairgrounds.

The tournament will feature some of the best Junior Legion teams in the state. A total of 15 games between teams could be played through Tuesday.
Four teams qualified for spots in the tournament.

These include No. 1 Johnston County and No. 2 Cary from Area I, and No. 1 South Caldwell and the No. 2 Carolina Flames from Area IV. The Flames will be the host team for the tournament.
