Jacob Fork gets Extreme

A new extreme sport terrain has opened up at Jacob Fork Park in Newton.
The new Pump Track, similar to a BMX track, opened for the public on July 5.

A pump track is a continuous loop of dirt rollers, berms and jumps which allow the rider to gain and keep momentum throughout the track without pedaling at all, according to Newton Parks and Recreation Department. The track works on the rider's upper and lower body, coordination, fitness and balance.
