The St. Stephens soccer team is one of the final four squads in the 3A soccer playoffs after shutting out conference rival Hickory at home on Saturday, 3-0.

The Lady Indians (22-1-2) made three goals in the second half, including netters by Macy Franklin, Lauren Brooks and Kalyn Meosky.

After taking a 0-0 tie into the halftime break, Franklin opened the scoring in the 51st minute to give Saint a 1-0 lead.

Brooks added the Indian's second goal in the 60th minute, increasing the home team's advantage.

Meosky's goal in the 68th minute capped the trifecta of scoring, which helped the Indians advance to the 3A West final.

St. Stephens plays on the road Tuesday against Charlotte Catholic (24-1-1) at 6 p.m in the 3A West championship game.

The winner of that contest moves on to next weekend's 3A state title game at North Carolina State University.
