Bandys converted Ashe County turnovers into 28 third-quarter points in a 40-14 Trojans win.

Bandys will play Smoky Mountain — which defeated Bunker Hill — in the second round next Friday.

The Trojans trailed Ashe County 14-12 at halftime.

Dominique Young led the second-half charge for Bandys with rushing touchdowns of 29, 10 and 14 yards and a touchdown reception of 30 yards from Anthony Toscano. Young finished the night with 93 yards on 19 carries and two catches for 32 yards.

Bandys opened the game with a 56-yard touchdown pass from David Barrow to Hunter Lackey on the Trojans' first play.

The Huskies struck back when Michael Elliott recovered a Bandys fumble in the end zone after a mishandled snap on a punt. Ashe County led 7-6.
Bandys answered when Barrow hit DeAndre Mack for a 31-yard scoring pass and a 12-7 lead.

Ashe County claimed a 14-12 lead on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Sam Gammons to Tyler Stuart.

Maiden 26, East Rutherford 13
Maiden defeated East Rutherford 26-13 on the strength of more than 100 yards rushing each by Matt Johnson and Will Jenkins.
Johnson tossed an early touchdown pass to Dakota Painter to get the Blue Devils running. Johnson later hit Painter for another score.
With Maiden leading 19-7 near halftime, Jenkins ended a Cavaliers drive with an interception and a return into East Rutherford territory.
Johnson and Grant Yowe scored second-half rushing touchdowns for Maiden.
