Zahra Baker was reported missing almost one month ago, but the search for her whereabouts hasn't slowed.
Investigators continue to follow leads, process information and conduct interviews in the hope of locating the 10-year-old girl, who is presumed dead.
HPD Maj. Clyde Deal said Tuesday officials are processing evidence collected during recent searches, but police have yet to receive any results from the lab.
Searchers finished their investigation Monday of the Baker residence, located at 21 21st Ave. NW in Hickory. Deal said investigators also searched three small areas in Caldwell County, near where police found Zahra's prosthetic leg.
The leg was located Oct. 27, and police said Monday the leg belonged to Zahra, following confirmation from Australian medical records.
Zahra's stepmother, Elisa Baker, was indicted Monday by a grand jury on an obstruction of justice charge. According to the indictment, the offense allegedly occurred Oct. 9, which is the day Zahra was reported missing. Elisa Baker confessed to writing a phony ransom note found Oct. 9 on the Baker property.
Elisa Baker is set to appear in court Wednesday at the Catawba County Justice Center in Newton for a probable cause hearing on her obstruction of justice charge.
