Back for a 33rd consecutive season, the Catawba County Hornets semi-pro football team kicks off its season on Saturday.

The Hornets, who finished 8-9 overall and 6-5 in the Central Carolinas Football League in 2011, face the Winston-Salem Red Wolves at Westside/Jaycee Park at 7 p.m. Saturday.

For a complete preview of the team, pick up the Thursday edition of Catawba County's community newspaper, The Observer News Enterprise, at newsstands throughout the county.
