'Hoppers combine to no-hit Crawdads, win 6-0

The Greensboro Grasshoppers combined to throw a no-hitter, shutting out Hickory in the first of a seven-game homestand for the Crawdads.

Greensboro starter Jose Fernandez and relievers Gregory Nappo and Kevin Cravey combined to strike out 11 Hickory batters, allow three walks, no hits and no runs in the impressive pitching performance.

Left fielder Ryan Goetz, third baseman Josh Adasm and first baseman Aaron Senne led the 'Hoppers (13-5) with two RBIs driven in each.

Hickory (12-6) and Greensboro play the second of a four-game series Wednesday with a special 11 a.m. start time.
