The Hickory Museum of Art (HMA) proudly presents The Autolawn Party on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the SALT Block Lawn located at 243 Third Avenue NE, Hickory. The celebration is centered around European Classic Car Show. The event is open to the public and admission is free to spectators. The event is open to the public and admission is free to spectators.
The Autolawn Party features activities for all ages. A Trick Your Trike/Bike Contest will be held for children ages 3 â€“ 7. Bring your â€śrideâ€ť out to the lawn for decorating between 11 a.m. â€“ 2 p.m. Participants will parade their bikes at 2 p.m. for judging. Children will also enjoy a free art activity.
Watch local Scouts battle it out on the track in a Pinewood Derby. The competition takes place from 11 a.m. â€“ 2 p.m. in the Kaiser Community Room, located in the West Wing Building on the SALT Block. All local Scouts with derby cars are welcome to participate.
The Autolawn Party also features a food court, beer garden, music, merchandise sales, raffle prizes, art exhibitions, and more. The public will have the opportunity to vote for People's Choice Awards for their favorite classic car and artwork in â€śRoad Trip,â€ť an exhibition featuring over 100 pieces at the Hickory Museum of Art.
