Hickory Police continue murder investigation

Hickory Police think Friday's murder is drug-related.
Eric Lynn Icenhour, 25, of Taylorsville, and his girlfriend, Michelle Buff Brower, 37, of Lawndale, were sitting in a 2011 Chevrolet HHR at about 3 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of Second Street Southwest when someone fired several shots using a rifle at the couple, according to a police report. Hickory Police said the gunshots seemed to be directed at Icenhour.
Brower was able to drive herself and Icenhour to Frye Regional Medical Center, where Icenhour was pronounced dead. Brower was treated and released Friday. The incident occurred in the area near Blue Ridge Heights apartments. The car suffered about $6,000 in damage from the shooting, according to a police report.
Hickory Police are investigating the shooting, but think drugs were related to the incident. No arrests were made as of press time Monday.
