A healthier public
Catawba County Public Health is working to create a healthier public in the area.
With the Public Health Farmers' Market, the organization is hoping to aid in obesity prevention and overall healthy eating habits for families.
"The idea was a collaborative effort," said Amy McCauley, community outreach manager for Public Health. "We're looking at strategies to prevent obesity and increase access to fresh produce. We have several 'food deserts' in the county and Public Health is located in one."
