Harvey fans eight in his third outing for GCL Orioles

Former Bandys standout pitcher Hunter Harvey had the best start so far of his professional baseball career on Thursday.

The Gulf Coast League (GCL) Orioles pitcher allowed no runs, no hits, one walk and struck out eight batters in three innings against the GCL Red Sox.

Harvey’s eight punch outs were part of 15 total team strikeouts.

The Orioles combined to three-hit the Red Sox in the contest, winning 3-1.

With the victory, the GCL Orioles improved to 18-18 on the season, which is the second-best record in the GCL South Division.

Harvey’s next start will likely take place on Tuesday against the GCL Red Sox or Wednesday against the GCL Twins.

His start will also last four innings.

Harvey should make several other starts before the Oriole’s season comes to an end on Aug. 29.
