Habitual felon charged with assault on a child

Felon and Catawba resident, Luther Dion Weaver, 42, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday for Assault On A Child Under 12 and Resisting Public Officer. The two misdemeanor charges occurred at Weaver's residence of 309 South Main Street, Catawba. He is being held on two secured bonds of $1,000 each. His court date for the charges is March 20.
