While the PGA hasn't officially announced the 2013 Champions Tour schedule, one thing is for certain — professional golf will return to the Hickory Metro in 2013.

Officials at Rock Barn announced Wednesday afternoon that the Greater Hickory Classic will return for an 11th event on Oct. 14-20, 2013.

The GHC will take place toward the end of the Champions Tour slate, separated by only one tournament from the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.

“We have a terrific spot on the Champions Tour schedule,” said GHC Executive Tournament Director Jim Correll. “Our part of the schedule is the culmination of a long season, and we are very happy that the Greater Hickory Classic will once again play a significant role in determining the Charles Schwab Cup champion. Plans are already underway for next year’s tournament, and we are looking forward to a fantastic event in 2013.”

The PGA TOUR plans to release the entire Champions Tour schedule as soon as next week.
