Several Catawba County governing bodies are scheduled to meet Monday.
Claremont City Council will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Catawba County Board of Commissioners are scheduled to meet Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the 1924 Courthouse in downtown Newton. Conover City Council is set to meet Monday at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Claremont City Council will discuss:
-An update on the fiscal year 2012 budget;
-A budget transfer;
-A resolution for Child Abuse Prevention Month;
-Departmental and committee reports;
-A closed session to review potential Economic Development Corporation projects.
Items on the Catawba County Board of Commissioners agenda include:
-A presentation about Catawba Valley Community College's Quality Enhancement Plan;
-A presentation about retiring deputy sheriffs Terry Shull and J. Michael Saunders;
-A Pink Heals presentation by members of the Hickory Fire Department;
-A departmental report from the Catawba County Economic Development Corporation about an economic incentives package for Fairmont Design Inc.;
-A funding plan for the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council's fiscal year 2012 budget.
Conover City Council's agenda for Monday's meeting includes:
-Presentations about a corporate citizen award, the American Legion Post 16's firefighter of the year award and the Conover Farmers Market;
-A recommendation for a contract to audit the city's accounts;
-A contract agreement between the Western Piedmont Council of Governments and Conover for grant management assistance for Manufacturing Solutions Center Economic Development Administration project for $25,000;
-A city manager's report;
-An ordinance amending the 2010-11 Budget Ordinance for the Governor's Highway Safety Checkpoint.
