GOP incumbents win county commission primary

Catawba County commissioners Barbara Beatty and Dan Hunsucker secured the most votes in Tuesday's Republican primary.

Hunsucker garnered 37 percent of the commission race vote, while Beatty received 30 percent.

Challengers Kevin Spiva and Steve Graves will not advance to November's general election, where Beatty and Hunsucker will face Democratic challenger Steve Hunt in the race for two county commission seats.
