Good Friday service shifts to nighttime
A decades-old Holy Week tradition will transform this year as Newton-area faith leaders seek to share the story of Jesus' final days with more citizens.
For years, local churches have taken turns hosting a noontime Good Friday service for community members of all denominations.
This year, the Kontras String Quartet, Western Piedmont Symphony's quartet in residence, will present Joseph Haydn's "The Seven Last Words of Christ" at the Old Post office Playhouse beginning at 7 p.m. April 6.
Nine local ministers will read responses during the performance.
