The community is invited to celebrate the happy life at Godoy Art Studio on Saturday, April 13 at 4 p.m. located at 105 N College Ave. in Newton.

The show, entitled “La Dolce Vita,” features 16 local artists.

Artists include Godoy Art Studio owner Ana Cristina Godoy, Christen Ehlert, Robert Dennis, Wayne Bowman, Beth Oczkowski, Scott Waldroup, Carrie Graves, Melissa Crosson, David Groshelle, Andrew Atkin, Kate Tinnan, Pat Flachbart, Andrea Timmerman, Anthony Atkin, Tom Vislay and Katie Billings.

During the event, all the artists will be on hand to answer questions about pieces, discuss inspiration and discuss their art process.

Godoy said her purpose for the show was to introduce the area and all of Catawba County to the art community. The show includes pottery, wood work, painting and jewelry. The art is priced from $40 to $5,000 and everything is for sale at the show.

The show will also feature catered latin food, California wine selections from Two Pink Magnolias and Italian and Latin music.

Guests can also get more information about Godoy's jewelry making, painting and advance classes. Her jewelry making classes include rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Godoy also offers birthday parties as well as classes on wedding bands. The painting classes include acrylic, oil, watercolor and faux finish. Her advance classes work with 14, 18 and 20 karat alloys, fine silver and 18 karat hand weaving.

The classes are three hours each and each class level is complete after 18 hours of class. Godoy said she has four levels of jewelry making classes available.
