Glen Oaks Golf Club continues play on the course

March 28, 2013

Glen Oaks Golf Club members were devastated when they woke and found their club house was destroyed  during an early morning fire on Sunday, Feb. 24.

A month later, the course is still in business, but one clubhouse short. Glen Oaks General Manager Dennis Henry said the golf course plans to build back in the same location and predicts a year time frame.

Until the new club house is built, the golf course is working out of two mobile offices placed near the charred clubhouse. Both mobile offices hold the pro shop, snack bar and office space. Henry said Thursday that phone systems were being replaced later in the day to complete  the process and get all phone lines back for smooth business.
