Gingrich to speak in Conover

April 24, 2012

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is scheduled to visit Conover on Thursday.

Gingrich's campaign website reports he will speak at a Catawba County Republican Party breakfast from 8-9 a.m. at Sidewalk Cafe on Conover Boulevard.

The Associated Press reports that Gingrich's daughter said her father will reassess his campaign after votes are tallied in today's Delaware primary election.

Jackie Gingrich Cushman said her father's campaign has slimmed down but is still winning voters who aren't yet sold on Mitt Romney.

Delaware is one of five states holding GOP primaries today.

Gingrich is also scheduled to visit Denver on Wednesday morning to speak to students at Lincoln Charter School. He's currently scheduled to continue a North Carolina tour through at least Friday.
