The Charlotte Bobcats have re-signed shooting guard Gerald Henderson.

The 2009 first round pick out of Duke University has signed a deal reportedly worth three years and $18 million.

Henderson’s contract also includes a player option after the 2014-15 NBA season.

Henderson tweeted about his re-signing, saying “IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!.....I am a Charlotte Bobcat again!! I'm glad to be back and am ready for another season in the Queen City!!!! #Cats”

Henderson averaged career highs in points (15.5), assists (2.6) and steals (1.0) in 68 games this past season.
He also set his career high for points in a game (35) on March 12 against the Boston Celtics.

“We are incredibly pleased that Gerald will remain a part of our team,” said Bobcats President of Basketball Operations Rod Higgins. “He is a player that we consider an important piece of our core. He has shown significant improvement over the past two seasons and we are confident that he will continue to play a key role for our team.”
