Despite leading 13-7 early in its opening round playoff game against Smoky Mountain, Bunker Hill gave up 21 straight points on the way to a 35-13 loss to the Mustangs.

The Bears' season ends with a 6-6 record.

In his final game at Bunker Hill, running back Reggie Davis rushed 25 times for 105 yards. Justin Lynch added 15 carries for 56 yards.

The Mustangs (6-6) were led by a pair of backs, too. Blake Smith rushed 29 times for 142 yards, while Michael George had 13 carries for 103 yards.

Davis carried the Bears to an early 7-0 lead on a 3-yard scoring run. Following a Mustangs score by Drew Londo, Lynch ran 23 yards for what ended up being the final score by the Bears.

George scored three of the Mustangs' final four touchdowns, including a catch of 15 yards from Londo and runs of 53 and 14. Smoky Mountain outgained Bunker Hill on the ground, 266-164.

The Mustangs meet Catawba Valley 2A team Bandys next Friday in Sylva in the second round of the playoffs.
