Gas station planned for Wal-Mart shopping center

Conover's busy Wal-Mart shopping center may get more crowded by summer.

And city officials expect all those cars to have a place to fuel up.

Murphy Oil USA plans to build a fuel station and convenience store at the corner of N.C. 16 Business and Zelkova Court NW.

City council voted 4-1 Monday to give Murphy approval to submit a site development plan for a fuel station and convenience store.
