Game four of Hickory-Shelby series postponed

July 20, 2013

The fourth playoff game between Hickory Post 48 and Shelby Post 82 on Saturday was postponed due to inclement weather.

The contest was moved to Sunday at 2 p.m. at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds.

A fifth game, if necessary, would take place on Monday at Keeter Stadium in Shelby at 7 p.m.

Post 82 won game three 10-5 on Friday night to take a 2-1 series advantage and move one win away from advancing to next week's Area IV finals.

The winner of the Hickory-Shelby playoff series meets the winner of the other Area IV semifinal between Lincoln County and Cherryville.

After winning games one and two, Lincoln County currently leads that series, 2-1.
