Gary Dale Beatty, 34, of Newton, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at his residence. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.

Glinda Kay Pate, 62, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.  Burke Mortuary in Newton is serving the Pate family.

Thelma Leatherman Queen, 82, of Newton, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 29, 2010, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley after a period of declining health. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.

Evelyn Faust, 96, of Abernethy Laurels in Newton, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
