Fred T. Foard senior midfielder Khong Lo is ‘dynamic’

NEWTON — Faced with admitting a freshman to his varsity program three years ago, Fred T. Foard soccer coach Scottie Goforth made a difficult decision.

“It’s a hard call to have a freshman on varsity,” Goforth said. “While they are technically ready, are they emotionally ready? It was an experiment that has paid off.”

The freshman in question — midfielder Khong Lo — has blossomed into a leader for the Tigers, who play tonight in the 3A West finals in Waxhaw.
