Four area prep coaches step down last last week

July 2, 2013

Four area prep coaches in four different sports at two high schools stepped down late last week.

Bunker Hill athletic director Lee Miller sent out an email stating that Bears volleyball coach Julie Harris, Bears softball coach Danny Sifford and Bears cross-country/track coach John Sullivan had all resigned.

Miller took the time to thank each of his departing coaches for their service to Bunker Hill High School, and also update the community on filling these positions.

“We are currently considering options for each position and hope to have replacements named in the next few weeks,” Miller said. “We are appreciative of each coach's time and dedication to BH athletics. Each coach built a successful program that should experience continued success in future years.”

Also stepping down from his baseball coaching position was St. Stephens’ Chip Watts.

He resigned from his coaching position to take over as the new assistant principal at Mill Creek Middle School.
Watts informed players on the baseball team of his decision on Friday.
