FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: Trojans tramble Bears
Quarterback Anthony Toscano threw two touchdown passes to Brian Spade and three other Trojans scored rushing touchdowns to help Bandys knock off Bunker Hill, 45-14, in Claremont on Friday.
Toscano tossed both of his touchdowns to Spade to open the first and second halfs, respectively, connecting from 24 yards out in the first quarter and 63 yards away in the third quarter.
Travis Kisser booted a 37-yard field goal for Bandys (7-4, 4-3) on special teams to help give Bandys a 10-0 lead after the first quarter.
Keaton Allen, Quiante Derr and Devan Davis added one touchdown run each of four, five and 14 yards, respectively.
Davis tallied a team-high 183 yards on the ground for Bandys, who gained 523 yards of total offense.
For the Bears (5-6, 1-6), Ryan Huffman had a 46-yard touchdown in the first half, while quarterback Colton Chapman threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Gettys in the second half.
Bunker Hill managed to gain just 143 yards of total offense in Friday's contest.
Hickory 63, Fred T. Foard 0
Eight different Red Tornadoes scored in a route of the Tigers in Hickory on Friday during Hickory's "Homecoming" game.
Quarterback Matt Williams threw three touchdown passes for Hickory (7-4, 4-2 in NWC), including two to Daniel Davis and one to Nick Guarino. Williams tallied 205 yards through the air in the game.
The Red Tornadoes also made big plays on defense. Darian Jolly intercepted a pass and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown, while a Dillion Crisp forced fumble turned in the end zone turned into a defensive touchdown by lineman Nathan Gibbs.
Crisp also scored on offense with a 3-yard touchdown run, and Jordan Lockhart added a 1-yard touchdown run of his own.
Leading 56-0 late, Jaquon Crawford added Hickory's ninth and final score on a 24-yard run.
Foard (2-8, 0-6) netting only 135 yards of total offense in Friday's contest.
