Fred T. Foard first-year head football coach Tom Harper returned to his old stomping grounds on Tuesday for his team’s first preseason scrimmage.

The Tigers traveled to Alexander Central, where Harper coached from 2007-11. He led the Cougars to five playoff appearances in as many years during his time there.

The Cougars were 34-26 under Harper, including a 19-11 mark in league play.

Fred T. Foard’s final scrimmage takes place Friday at the Burke County Jamboree at 7 p.m.
