Fire at Hickory Springs

A fire was reported Tuesday at a manufacturing facility in Conover.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company at 9:51 a.m., according to the Conover Fire Department.
The fire, which occurred in the building's manufacturing area called the "carousel," was extinguished before firefighters arrived. The scene was under control at 10:04 a.m., and Conover firefighters used the building's ventilation system to remove any remaining smoke from the building.
No one was injured.
About 12 personnel from CFD responded to Hickory Springs, and firefighters from Claremont were on standby during the incident.
The fire occurred during a manufacturing procedure.
