Electronics stolen from residence

September 2, 2010

Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars in electronics Wednesday from a Conover residence.
The suspects allegedly stole a laptop, a 36-inch flat-screen TV, a 42-inch flat-screen TV, a surround sound stereo system and eight pairs of boots from a residence in the 500 block of Eastway Lane in Conover, said Sgt. Bart Lowdermilk of the Conover Police Department.
A neighbor saw two black male suspects enter the residence about 2:20 p.m. through the backdoor. The neighbor went back inside his house, and moments later, he saw the men leaving the residence. The neighbor said one of the men appeared to have a flat-screen TV under his shirt, Lowdermilk said.
The backdoor to the residence was unlocked at the time of the burglary.
Conover Police brought a dog to the scene in an attempt to locate the men, but the suspects were never found.
“We didn’t know if they left on foot or in a car,” Lowdermilk said.
Police later obtained video footage of the suspects leaving the residence in a white Kia or Lexus mid-size car. Lowdermilk declined to comment on where police received the video footage.
The video showed the suspects leaving the residence and heading toward Fourth Street SW.
Lowdermilk said it’s possible the burglary victim knew the suspects, and Conover Police have people of interest in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
