Eight-team brack set for Jr. Legion tourney

The Carolina Glove Flames are one of eight teams
participating in the Junior Legion tournament Friday
at the American Legion Fairgrounds.

The final four spots were filled for Friday’s Junior Legion state tournament at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds.

Qualifying for the tournament are Rowan County, Kernersville, Leland and Newport.

Rowan County will be the No. 1 team from Area III. Newport is the No. 2 team in Area III.

Leland and Kernersville are representing Area II. Leland will be the No. 1 seed in Area II and Kernersville is the No. 2 seed in Area II.

The Carolina Glove Flames, the host team for the tournament, will play Leland at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Another regional team, South Caldwell, will face off with Newport at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The opening game Friday will feature Rowan County against Cary at 10 a.m.
Johnston County, the No. 1 team from Area I, will face Kernersville at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Tickets for the tournament are $7 for a two-game session. The stands will be cleared after each session.

Those wishing to watch the entire tournament can purchase a tournament pass for $30, which will be available for all games.
