Dinner dispute ends in murder

An argument over dinner sparked a Friday night argument that ended with a Catawba County man shooting his brother to death.

Billy Ray Seagle, 54, is charged with murdering his younger brother Kenneth Franklin Seagle, 53 at their home near Baker’s Mountain Park.

“Basically they got in a fight over supper,” Catawba County Sheriff Capt. Joel Fish said adding that sausage was apparently on the brother’s dinner menu. “Apparently one of them burnt the supper.”
