CHARLOTTE — The Davidson Wildcats have promoted longtime assistant coach Jim Fox to associate head coach.

The 2012-13 campaign will be Fox's 12th on the Davidson bench, a little over a decade of one of the most successful stretches in Davidson basketball history. The Wildcats have logged 242 victories during that time, an average of 22 wins per season, and Davidson has played in the postseason eight times, including five appearances in the NCAA?Tournament.

Wildcats head coach Bob McKillop says Fox "has distinguished himself as one of the top assistant coaches, not just in the Southern Conference but in the country."

Davidson returns all five starters from a team that finished the 2011-12 campaign 25-8 overall record and won the Southern Conference tournament as the top seed.
