Hickory Crawads third baseman Joey Gallo closed out his first-ever minor league baseball season with a bang on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old Gallo was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week for the second time this season.

During the week, Gallo hit seven home runs in six games during the week with 11 RBIs, seven runs and three walks.

Gallo was also presented with the prestigious Joe Bauman Award, which is given to the minor league baseball player who hit the most home runs in a season.

Gallo is the youngest player to win the Bauman Award in its 12-year history. He also became the first teenager to hit 40 home runs in a season since 1962.

The Crawdads finished the season with 178 homers, which are the most in South Atlantic League history.

Gallo tweeted on Monday: “Couldn’t ask for a better group of guys to spend my first full season with! I can’t believe it’s already over!”
