CVCC pitcher Whaley heading to Appalachian State

Catawba Valley Community College and Hickory Post 48 pitcher Robert Whaley has committed to play baseball for Appalachian State next fall.

Whaley spent this past spring pitching for CVCC, helping them make it to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Div. II World Series.

He also played American Legion baseball this past summer for Hickory Post 48 — his last season of eligibility for the squad.
