The following are arrests and incidents reported in Catawba County.
Suspect: Tara Sheree Smith, 36, of 26 26th St. NW in Hickory
Charges: breaking and entering, assault and battery, damage to personal property and assault with a deadly weapon.
Suspect: Keith Lee Clontz, 27, of 1546 N.C. 16 South in Newton
Charges: Manufacturing marijuana
Suspect: Tyun Jermaine Tipps, 35, of 4247 Rhoney School Road in Hickory Â
Charges: Possesion with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintain place for controlled substance.
Suspects tried to break into the Honeys IGA grocery store in Vale. The burglars broke the front sliding doors and locking system at the Honeys IGA at 9580 N.C. 10 West in Vale. The damage is valued at $300.
Thieves stole lawn maintenance equipment from a storage building in Claremont. They stole a Husquva leaf blower and Echo chainsaw, both valued at $350. The crooks also kicked in the back wall of the storage building, causing $100 in damage to the building.
Crooks stole milking equipment and truck parts from the residence of James Grover Connor, 53, of 7861 Young Road in Hickory. They stole three dairy milkers and two dairy strainers valued at $50 each.The thieves also stole $700 worth of truck parts.
Unknown suspects stole guns, ammunition and a propane grill from the residence of Gary Wayne Leatherman, 59, of 3414 Old Shelby Road in Hickory. The thieves took one 20-gauge automatic shotgun valued at $750, one camoflauge 12-gauge shotgun valued at $225, 20 boxes of 20-gauge and 12-gauge shotgun shells and one white propane grill.
Thieves broke into the residence of Floyd L. Norris at 3910 N.C. 10 East in Claremont. They stole $140 in cash. They also damaged a door and window while breaking in.
