Behind a two-RBI performance from shortstop Hanser Alberto, the Hickory Crawdads picked up a 6-4 series-clinching win Monday at home against the Charleston RiverDogs (16-7).

Alberto drove in both of his RBIs in the bottom of the sixth inning — part of a six-run inning for Hickory (16-8).

With the bases loaded, Alberto doubled to left field, scoring Luis Sardinas and Chris Grayson.

Hickory’s Zach Cone and Trever Adams also drove in one run each in the inning.

Cone singled to left field to plate Alberto, while Adams’ sacrifice fly with one out brought home Joe Maloney from third base.

Despite 11 hits, the RiverDogs left seven men on base in the loss.

After taking Tuesday off, Hickory starts a seven-game road trip Wednesday. The trip includes three games against Greensboro and four contests against Kannapolis.

The Crawdads’ next home game is Thursday, May 10 against the Savannah Sand Gnats.
