Crawdads sweep weekend set with Kannapolis

The Hickory Crawdads won two games this past week against the Kannapolis Intimidators, taking a 6-0 Saturday victory and winning 5-3 on Sunday.

Hickory 6, Kannapolis 0

Zach Cone led the 'Dads (18-11) on Saturday with a 2-for-5 performance from the plate that included a three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning.

Rougned Odor and Hanser Alberto also drove in one RBI each in the Saturday win.

Jerad Eickoff won his fourth game of the season in a seven-inning performance on the mound.

Hickory 5, Kannapolis 3

Designated hitter Joe Maloney's two-run homer in the top of the third inning helped Hickory tie the game at 3-3, while one run each in the top of the sixth and top of the ninth pushed the Crawdads past the Intimidators.

Hickory starter Santo Perez went seven innings on the mound to pick up his second victory of the season.

The Crawdads and the Intimidators play two more games in the series on Monday and Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.

Hickory will be off on Wednesday before returning to L.P. Frans on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game against Savannah.
