Crawdads power their way past Tourists on diamond

Four Crawdads drove in two runs each, helping Hickory pick up an 11-4 road victory over Asheville in minor league baseball action on Tuesday.

Nick Williams, Joe Maloney, Nomar Mazara and Jordan Akins each had two RBIs for Hickory (6-7) in the win. Williams, Maloney and Akins also had a home run each.

Williams led the 'Dads with three hits and two runs scored to go with his home run and two RBIs.

Mazara, Akins and Jorge Alfaro also had two hits apiece.

Hickory starting pitcher Connor Sadzeck improved to 2-0 on the mound this season by allowing six hits, two walks and striking out one in his five innings of work.

Juan Ciriaco and Drew Beuerlein led Asheville (6-7) with three hits each.

The Crawdads and Tourists play game two of their series in Asheville on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
