Couple arrested for meth

Two Newton residents were arrested on Monday, Nov. 26 when Narcotics Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office followed up on an anonymous tip.

The tip reported that methamphetamine was being manufactured at a residence located at 3148 Carmel Ridge Dr. in Newton, while children were present inside.

This tip started an investigation which established probable cause to apply for and obtain a search warrant for the property.
