Catawba County is the North Carolina's top recycler, state officials announced Monday.

Catawba County’s per capita recovery rate of about 729 pounds also ranks first by about 300 pounds over Pitt County, according to data compiled in the state’s annual Solid Waste and Materials Management Report.
