County board conducts business for April

April 1, 2013

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners awarded retired Catawba County Deputy Sheriff Lynn Baker with his badge and service weapon for his 30 years of service.

The board also accepted a set of solid waste disposal agreements with the cities of Conover and Hickory and the town of Long View. The agreement continued acceptance, management and disposal of solid waste collected within those municipalities’ jurisdictions for a period of five years. It will include an option for renewal for an additional five years.
