Cosmetology cuts out breast cancer

October 18, 2012

With a staff and student population of all women, Catawba Valley Community College’s Cosmetology School Director Tammy Muller decided Breast Cancer awareness was a great way for the women in the program to give back.

During the week of Oct. 15-19 all proceeds from the school go to Susan G. Komen For the Cure, a breast cancer foundation.

“I had some people from the main campus ask me about during a fundraiser for breast cancer, and so this week we are running the Cut out Breast Cancer campaign,” Muller said.

This is the first year the school is doing a campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but Muller said the school is always looking for ways to give back and participate in community service projects.
