Changes are coming to the local Newton soup kitchen.

Beginning on Aug. 8th, the Corner Table will now be serving meals Monday-Friday. Executive Director Summer Jenkins said the decision to start serving five days a week was approved on Tuesday by the Corner Table’s governing board. For Jenkins, she finally has an answer to give to those who have wondered why the kitchen wasn’t open on Fridays.

“It has been the number one question I’ve been asked,” said Jenkins. “Everyone one from guests, volunteers, and people in the community have asked me that question since I have been here.”
