Conover girl turns reading into gold

With digital distractions like Snapchat and Angry Birds, reading is often seen as a dying pastime among younger generations.

One local Girl Scout, Jessica Shook, of Conover, set out to change that mindset with her recent service project, “Reading for Fun.”
