Conover cleans up after storm

A fast moving powerful storm struck Conover Thursday afternoon and left a trail of damage across the city.

“As of noon today [Friday] we have collected more than 50 tons of debris since clean up efforts began yesterday,” Conover City Manager Donald Duncan said.

According to Conover city officials, one home has been destroyed and several  others have significant damage from falling trees.
