Connelly Springs man convicted of charges

Kenneth Ray Phillips, 48, Connelly Springs, pled guilty to and was convicted of (F) Breaking and Entering (2 counts), (F) Larceny (3 counts), (F) Possession of Stolen Goods, (M) Simple Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance and Habitual Felon status on Oct. 16 in Burke County Criminal Court.

The defendant was sentenced to no less than 117 months and no more than 150 months active in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. The crimes occurred between January 2010 and May 2011 in Burke County and involved the thefts of a pressure washer, toolbox, assorted checkbooks and a 1989 Dodge truck.
