A bases-loaded walk by Cole McGraw in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Hickory Post 48 to a 12-11 victory over Kings Mountain Post 155 on Tuesday at Henkel-Alley Field at the American Legion Fairgrounds.

With the win, Hickory (16-4) takes 1-0 series lead over Kings Mountain (3-12).

McGraw, who drove in four runs in Tuesday's Area IV series-opening playoff game, picked up the win in relief, allowing three hits, two runs (both earned), no walks and struck out one in an inning of work.

Tyler Pait, Matt Ward and Luke Barton also drove in two RBIs each on offense.

Hickory travels to Kings Mountain in the second game of the series on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
