Citizens honored by NCSHP

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol honored three local citizens for their assistance in finding the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run which occured on May 23 between Lincolnton and Maiden. Left to right: NCSHP 1st Sgt. Daryl Conley, Sgt. Kelly Stewart, 12-year-old Randy Gardado, who located an antenna and headlight in a debris field in his yard, Bill Boone, a employee at Skeet’s Autobody Shop in conver, which contacted Chevrolet to help identify the make, model and year range of the vehicle, Gary Gaston, who compiled a list of 1,700 local vehicles that matched the make, model and years that matched the suspect’s vehicle and Lt. Doug Amos.
